Clinical Internship in Optometry
Objective
To provide hands-on experience and enhance patient care management skills through intensive practical training under the expert guidance of the Visifert faculty.
Program Structure
During the 13 months of clinical training, each trainee will rotate through comprehensive and subspecialty clinics.

Incomplete forms will be disqualified if the required documents and certificates mentioned above are not attached.
Clinical Internship in Optometry
Internship Details
Program Duration: 13 months
Internship Start Date: 1st July 2025
Eligibility
Candidates should have completed the third year of optometry training (with no backlogs) from a recognized optometry school, college, or institute.
Selection Process
Selection is based on merit, through an online written examination:
Format: 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Syllabus: Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optometry)
Online Examination
All eligible candidates will receive details regarding the online admission examination via their registered email in advance.
A mock examination will also be conducted to help applicants familiarize themselves with the online platform.
Important Dates
Last Date to Apply: 20th May 2025
Date of Online Examination: 5th June 2025
Fees
Application Fee: INR 1,180/- (including GST)
Internship Course Fee: INR 1,20,360/- Only (Tuition fee: INR 1,02,000/- + GST INR 18,360/-)
Accommodation & Food
Food Charges: If a trainee chooses to stay in the hostel, a payment of INR 25,200/- for six months is required at the time of admission (charges may vary based on campus location).
Accommodation: Shared accommodation is provided on campus at no cost to the trainee.

The internship will be conducted across the Visifert network, including tertiary, secondary, and primary eye care centres.

Clinical Internship in Optometry and Postgraduate Diploma in Optometry and Vision Sciences
Program Details
Optometry trainees pursuing the Clinical Internship in Optometry will have the opportunity to complete their Postgraduate Diploma in Optometry and Vision Sciences (PGDOVS) through an additional year of coursework.
Program Duration
First Year: Clinical Internship in Optometry
Second Year: Sub-specialty coursework of the PGDOVS program
Admission Process
At the end of the Clinical Internship, trainees will be required to appear for an admission examination for entry into the second year (PGDOVS coursework).
Second Year Tuition Fee
INR 1,77,000/- (including GST)
